Meet The Teacher Night  

Westney will be hosting its first in-person Meet the Teacher event on Thursday September 21, 2023 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. All families are invited to tour our classrooms and meet our teachers. We hope to see you there!

Food Drive

Week of September 18 - 22, help us to take a stand against food insecurity by dropping non-perishable food items at school. These items will be delivered to Durham’s Feed the Need. Westney Heights is taking part in an Ajax-wide event. Check out the flyer here!

Hunger is an important issue that impacts individuals, seniors, and families from all parts of Durham Region. As the Region of Durham continues to grow at a rapid pace and food prices increase, people are experiencing using food banks and related services more than ever. Over the past three years, a local food bank, Feed the Need in Durham, has reported the number of people accessing their services double to the likes of reaching over 10,000 individuals and families. To address the needs of our community, let’s take action together!

Library Book Fair

We will be having a Book Fair the same week as our Meet the Teacher night which is Sep 21, 2023.  The fair will run from Monday the 18 to Friday the 22nd. Classes will be scheduled to come to see the books and the fair will be open after school from Monday through Wednesday from 3:30-4:30.  On Thursday it will be open during the Meet the Teacher event.  It will be closed at 11:45am on Friday the 22nd.
